“Vendors that I do work well with will drop me a note and say, ‘Hey, here are three things that I think may be of interest to you. If so, give me 15 minutes, I’ll give you a call and let’s have a chat.’ That is much more practical and applicable to me,” says Pickering.
“Great partners take the time to understand what we are trying to do, explain why their product is relevant to what we are trying to do and make a time to have that conversation in a scheduled sense, rather than, ‘hey, I want to talk to you about this thing that we want to sell.’”
