Versent’s Justyn Green has worked in the tech sector for 17 years, the past seven as an engineer and solution architect at the Telstra-owned digital transformation and cloud consultancy.
Green was interested in computers when he was young, but IT wasn’t his first choice. Initially, it was the challenging occupation of being a psychiatric nurse that grabbed his attention. In 2006, he landed a role at Cumberland Hospital in Western Sydney.
He spent 18 months at the hospital caring for mentally ill patients, some of whom were violent due to significant trauma. For Green, it was a less physically demanding and more ‘cerebral’ role than general nursing, and he enjoyed the challenge.
