Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, a challenger to the big four, is a digital transformation success story. Over the past 5 years, it has gone from operating 8 different banks to 3 and built tech infrastructure that is adaptable and responsive to what customers want.

As it stands, 50% of the bank’s platforms are in the cloud and all of its systems are expected to be consolidated onto one platform by the end of 2025.

APIs are also being reused extensively across Bendigo’s consumer and business operations. For instance, the bank recently rolled out a home lending platform to its brokers. It includes 160 APIs that enable customers to determine, within 6 minutes, if they are in a position to fund a property purchase.
