A Day in the Life of a CISO: Jamil Farshchi, CISO, Equifax
Jun 3, 2024Jamil Farshchi joined credit reporting agency, Equifax, as CISO shortly after it fell victim to one of the world’s largest ever identity cybercrimes where the information of 147 million people was exposed.
Farshchi, who was brought in to help the organisation recover from the 2017 attack, is now advocating for CISOs and their teams to be more transparent, to share their issues publicly and move past what has been described as a ‘security by obscurity’ paradigm.
During an interview with ADAPT at our recent Security Edge event in Sydney, Farshchi says he understands the notion that keeping everything under lock and key means nobody’s going to know about an organisation’s cyber posture and risk is reduced.
