Last week, Commonwealth Bank launched a cross-border payments partnership with American financial services organisation, BNY. In July, ANZ launched its Express Payments offering, NAB launched Pay by Bank for Australian merchants in May, and Westpac switched on its PayTo service for corporate billers in April.
Speaking to ADAPT, Chris Jewell, Co-Founder and CEO at Byron Bay payments fintech Zepto, says the market for services based on the New Payments Platform (NPP) is ‘absolutely at a tipping point.’
Last year, the NPP was used to process 1.3 billion transactions worth more than $1.5 trillion.
