A Day in the Life of a Tech Exec: Top 5 interviews of 2024

Dec 16, 2024 | 4 mins

ADAPT conducted 19 interviews with senior tech execs working at vendors and consultancies across Australia in 2024.

We explored topics like enterprise sales strategies, customer engagement with AI, why particular customer engagements stood out from the rest and more.

The interviews were all great, but here are our top 5.

1. David Heacock, Spokesperson and Coordinator, Australian Digital Delivery Alliance

Australian Digital Delivery Alliance’s David Heacock spoke about how government is getting tired of being held to ransom on large technology procurements and programs that have failed to deliver.

Heacock represents small tech consultancies that banded together to form the alliance. He said that core changes to procurement practices are a big lever that can improve the way government buys IT.

Heacock highlighted that many tech consultants have a ‘land and expand’ mindset with customers – gaining a foothold inside organisations and identifying but not helping customers prioritise risk.
