Executive summary
Leading up to its Data Edge event 3rd quarter of 2024, ADAPT engaged Data Leaders from some of Australia’s largest and most innovative organisations to gain insights into their key initiatives, challenges and investments in the 12 months ahead.
ADAPT collected insights from government agencies and technology providers who attended Data Edge to enrich our findings. Key themes from the survey, onsite discussions and roundtables included:
- Australian CDAOs optimism towards AI is on the rise. However, the pressure to demonstrate tangible business value from AI is increasing.
- A lack of synergy between the maturity of an organisation’s data foundation and their AI use cases impacts AI proof of concepts (POC)s ability to move to Production at scale.
- Making your workforce future-ready to adopt AI and become data centric by laying the foundations for upskilling and training.
- Shifting to a human-centered approach to AI adoption to ensure return on value and success of your AI initiatives at scale, despite low data literacy.
- Striking a balance between AI optimism, the rapidly changing AI landscape and restoring security and privacy in organisations.
