Executive Summary
ADAPT contends that Chief Information Officers (CIOs) are more able to identify the value that they are capturing from operations, customers, and ecosystems than the behaviours that deliver that value. These trends mean that CIOs must invest in understanding and supporting the behaviours that will enable the organisation to become future-ready. This will provide an opportunity to improve the coordination and therefore the value of operational and experience transformations.
CIOs of large Australian organisations (those with over 2,500 employees) can coordinate transformation and capture value by:
- inspecting the behaviours that create value with performance dashboarding
- innovating to integrate experiences for colleagues and customers
- industrialising operations to underpin investment, productivity and innovation.
Enacting these strategies will require the CIO to partner with the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Chief Digital Officer (CDO), Data Leader, and Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO).
