About Jennifer

Jennifer Scott leverages technology to drive strategic advantage. She excels in supporting CIOs to harness technology for enhancing customer and employee experiences, ultimately leading to increased profit.

Jennifer’s expertise lies at the intersection of business and technology, with deep experience across strategy, transformation, commercial finance, data, and technology.

She has been at the forefront of significant consumer technology shifts: early mass-market mobile (Virgin Mobile), website shopping (Expedia), social media (Trip Advisor), time-shifted TV (Virgin Media), and mobile purchasing (eBay). Jennifer possesses firsthand insight into how technology transforms the way we work, shop, and socialise. For instance, by 2030, AI will dramatically reshape business size, reduce complexity, increase personalisation, and alter organisational structures. Jennifer has profound insight into AI and its implementation across Australian organisations.

Jennifer has contributed to four recent transformations:

  • Most recently, she led the decentralisation of EREA, from conceptualising the approach to securing Board approval and leading cultural and structural change. EREA is a $1.1B revenue education organisation with over 4,000 employees across Australia in every state and territory.
  • Between 2018 and 2023, Jennifer served as a Non-Executive Director on the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ Transformation Advisory Board and subsequently its Audit Committee.
  • By 2017, she was General Manager of Transformation and Performance at ANZ Bank, supporting its vision to become a “digital” bank.
  • Jennifer led Customer Strategy for Virgin Media UK, which underpinned the telco’s transformation leading up to its 2013 acquisition by Liberty Media for a 24% share premium.

With extensive experience in digital companies, Jennifer served as Chief Operating Officer for eBay’s European Finance team, overseeing $3B in revenue. At Expedia, from 2005 to 2010, she was VP Finance for its Corporate Travel, Affiliate, and Advertising divisions as revenue doubled to $3.4B.

As a founding member of the Virgin Mobile UK business, Jennifer established its commercial finance team. Additionally, she pitched and raised $10M for a start-up wine company and now advises multiple start-ups on product development, business model enhancement, and capital raising.

Jennifer holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Melbourne and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountants (UK) and a Chartered Accountant (Aus) designate. She completed executive education in negotiation and transformation at Harvard and MIT, respectively. Having lived in Seattle, London, and Switzerland, she returned to Melbourne in 2017. Jennifer has two daughters, enjoys baking, is an avid cyclist, and is a devoted follower of the Tour de France.
